Fire Agate Jewelry
For agate lovers, fire agate jewelry is a prized piece. The bands in
the fire agate rival some of the best opals. The dark brown to
reddish-brown stones reflect fire in gold, red, green, yellow purple
and, the rarest color, blue.
Because fire agate is so rare, many pieces of fire agate jewelry are in
fancy shapes, rather than traditional ovals, rounds, squares and
baguettes. Although you'll usually find fire agate rings and pendants,
occasionally enough similiar stones are available to be set in a
multi-gem piece, like a bracelet or necklace.
Fire agate is often found in Mexico and in parts of the United States. It has only been known for the last 40 years or so.
Fire agate is much harder than opal, which means that it is strong
enough to wear every day. It is very resistant to chipping and breaking.
To care for your fire agate jewelry, clean it with a soft cloth dipped
in lukewarm water. Store it in a jewellery bag to keep it from getting
scratched from other pieces.
