A one-carat alexandrite ring, if you can even find it, will retail for at least $15,000, and the extremely rare multi-carat gems will go for up $100,000 per carat! Even the color-changing chrysoberyls are very rare and expensive.

If you can buy a natural alexandrite pendant, be sure to check its ability to change color. The more complete the color change, the more valuable the gemstone.
