Depicted in this JeGem masterpiece pendant is the legendary Garuda, a half man and half bird that represents wisdom of the Four Dignities in Tibetan Buddhism. The remover and destroyer of obstacles, Garuda is also the vehicle of Vishnu, one of the Gods of Hindus. Carved inside this pendant is the God of Wisdom Manjushree. As the God of learning, he bears a sword on his right hand to destroy ignorance and attain wisdom which is conveyed on the book on his left hand, the most honored virtue in Buddhism. The pendant's bail is an indestructible Tibetan dorje known to be a thunderbolt or diamond that destroys all types of ignorance. |
