Do you own a gorgeous orange-red carnelian?  If not, you should, especially if your birthday is in July or August.  This hot-pepper red gem is the alternative birthstone for both of these steaming summer months!

But even if you don’t have a summer birthday, carnelian is a fabulous gem to add to your collection. Ours are all gorgeous semi-translucent, which means the color is bright and clear. The color ranges from a very deep brownish-red to a bright orange.
