Can you imagine sitting hunched over a tiny gemstone with a tiny knife and carving it? One false move and you’ve ruined a high quality stone! That’s the kind of artisan craftsmanship that goes into our jewelry, and it’s no more evident anywhere at JeGem than in our carved gemstone pieces.
Carving gemstones can give them more sparkle. A good example is our rare verdelite and rubellite pendant. This amazing piece has diagonal cut lines carved into the deep green stone. This texture adds more depth and sparkle to the stone. Or see very detailed hand carving to the beads in our Moss Agate and Blue Onyx Bracelet. Sometimes artisans carve images into the front or back of stones for extra appeal.
An great example of this is our reverse-carved amber earrings. Tiny roses have been carved in the back of the stone to achieve this look. Another example on hand carving is what makes our assortment of rock crystal pendants so special. Some stones are deep carved, like our Jade Pendant .
Look at our magnificent hand-carved silver hair clip, this kind of silver work is one-in-a-million. Our turquoise and coral bracelet dragon with five hand carved sterling silver beads is a piece of art.
Imagine! Each of these tiny stones was carved by hand, and they look virtually identical! Stones are delicate to carve, but creating consistent designs in silver is just as precise and painstaking a process.
