In keeping the tradition of genuine artisan crafts, JeGem presents its new collection: Indian handwoven shawls.
Like all JeGem products, these shawls are truly exotic and painstakingly handmade. They are sourced directly from our artisans, who live in small villages located in almost inaccessible parts of India. In this part of the world, where hand weaving is a huge part of the culture, shawls are more than just commercial products.
For many centuries, India has been reputable for the superb quality of the shawls made. It was India that first made such accessories, which became very popular in Europe and eventually around the world from the 18th century to the present.
A single shawl may take several days to complete, depending on the complexity of the design. Our Indian artisans use their inherited traditional hand weaving methods and only natural materials such as cotton, linen, and Merino wool.
Because our shawls are proudly handmade, they are softer, have more variety, and reflect the evidence of handiwork even in the smallest details. Each piece has so much character than many mass-produced “pashmina” shawls sold in malls.
We have only limited pieces, so don't hesitate to buy the shawl you want when you see it.
