RESPONSE TO HARRIET....THE ALEXANDRITE IS THE BEST IT CAN BE, I HAVE SEEN LAB CREATED ALEXANDRITE THAT IS DULL AND UGLY. AUTHENTIC ALEXANDRITE IS EXTRAORDINARILY EXPENSIVE ESPECIALLY AT THE SIZES OF THESE. THE REAL THING WOULD UNAFFORDABLE TO MOST. I CAN'T IMAGINE A LAB CREATING THIS TO PERFECTION.

This ring is a real eye-catcher...very pretty silverworks! But the color of this lab-created alexandrite stone is not the same as shown by the pictures -the color changes in daylight from a burgundy red with light reflections of gray and green to strong magenta in tungsten light. Authentic Alexandrite: -in daylight: from emerald green, bluish green or brown to red -in tungsten light: from emerald green, bluish green or brown to magenta -in candlelight: from emerald green, bluish green or brown to violet or purple blue
